The Huron Club – January 25, 2012

For the kick-off event of 2012, we held our Let’s Eat! dinner at a place where we eat  many, many, many lunches, and where our children feel right at home — the legendary Huron Club. Even in the short time we’ve lived in Collingwood, this restaurant has evolved before our eyes. We suspect the best is yet to come! The owners, Ian and Joanne Duff, are great people, who we feel fortunate to have connected with. They’re the kind of owners who hire staff they trust, and trust the staff they’ve hired. With this, they gave the reigns for the event to their restaurant manager, Jay Worsley, who collaborated with us and with the chef to plan the evening. Here’s the menu for the event:

A cup of our homemade roasted butternut squash soup

Baby spinach salad with warm goat cheese, honey-roasted walnuts, apple and a lemon poppy seed dressing

Mussels two ways: red curry coconut broth  & Creemore beer, grainy mustard, smoked tomato butter with leeks

Mini version of our signature burger with all the fixins’

Mac and cheese with pancetta smoked balderson cheddar

Vegetable curry with chickpeas, cilantro, green rice

“Nearly world famous” spaghetti and meatballs

House smoked pork riblets glazed with Collingwood whiskey BBQ sauce

to finish…

Lemon mousse

Chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream

Need we say more!?
