The Huron Club, March 26, 2013

A few months ago, Ian and Joanne, owners of the Huron Club, hired a new chef, Jessy. What a brilliant move that was! Listen, we’ve always liked the Huron Club, right from the time we moved to Collingwood. The atmosphere is casual, the service staff are always on top of it, the live music is fantastic, the patio is a great feature in the nice weather…we could go on and on. Having said all that, the food being served these days seals the deal for us. Jessy is one of our new favourite chefs. As long as he’s cooking, we’re in!

At risk of writing a novel, we’ll just mention a few of the items on the menu. There were 2 canapes, an amuse-bouche, a first, a second, and a desert. How about ricotta with spiced preserved fruit crostini with foie gras? Or tuna tartare with avocado, mango, cilantro and sesame? Or cornish game hen cooked 2 ways!?! If absolutely nothing else had been served that night, we would have left happy. But there was more, so we left even happier!

Although we tend to comment a lot on the food at our Let’s Eat! events, we know that everything tastes that much better because of the great crew of people we’re dining with each time. This was one more example of how fun, social, and open you all are. We watched friends of ours meet new people, connect, buy drinks for each other…it was great. Thanks to all of you.

Last but not least, happy birthday, Michelle! So glad you decided to spend it with us.
