The Smoke – April 22, 2014

Let me talk about the soup! Yah, you read that right — the soup. I know The Smoke is the meat capital of Collingwood, and it would be logical that the content of this post would be particularly meaty, but it’s the soup that I’m most excited about. Anyone who’s tried The Smoke’s Smoked Chicken Corn Chowder will understand where I’m coming from. Smoked chicken breasts, corn, potato, peppers and cheddar make one outstanding soup. Since our cold weather won’t go away, this would be a great week to stop into The Smoke to give it a try.

Of course, while you’re there, you’re going to want some smoked meat too. The beef brisket was delicious and tender on Tuesday night, but I always go back to the pulled pork. Top it with The Smoke’s unique sauces, like the Hot Vinegar Sauce and/or the Caroline Mustard Sauce, and you can’t go wrong. A staple for sure.

To top off our four course meal, the folks at The Smoke also surprised us with a tasty desert of strawberry shortcake…and…smoked banana ice cream! I’ll say it again…smoked banana ice cream! Great stuff.

Thanks to all our guests who mustered up the energy and stomach space for a hearty meal after the Easter long weekend. It was wonderful to see you all at Let’s Eat’s 25th event. Looking forward to seeing you at our next event. Until then, eat well!
